When did David Caruthers die?

Caruthers-270 lists his death as 1810 based on St Martins Parish succession records in Louisiana, which might indicate the recording of his will and not his actual death.

Caruthers-398 lists his burial as1825.  I doubt that the burial would have been 15 years after his death unless it was a re-burial.  Some of the sources listed in FAG match theones on Caruthers-270

Did he maybe have a son named David, or a nephew or grandchild, that died on that second date? Just a thought.
What is the source of his marriage to Marguerite (Savoie) Peck (Savoie-607) in 1813?.  The marriage is after his purported death in 1810.

She had been born in Louisiana when it was still part of New Spain.
