I have been stuck in my research of a family member from Chester County Pennsylvania. His name is Gibbons J. Stringer census records from mid to late 1800's indicate that he would have been born in 1820, his tombstone in Coatsville Pa. says he was born 1823 and other records i have say he was born May of 1823. His children's death certificates and the census records say he was born in Coatesville Chester County Pennsylvania. He was married twice. His first marriage was to Elizabeth "Phoebe" Walker he had 3 children with her Charles Edward Stringer born about 1848, Annie Stringer born about 1844, and John Mark Stringer born about 1843. His second marriage was to Sarah "Sallie" Carberry he had 6 children with her William McCelland Stringer born 1863, Lizzie Stringer born about 1863, Frank Stringer born about 1867 who died in a Mill accident when he was a teenager in 1882, George Stringer about 1869, Ellen "Nellie" Stringer born about 1873 he lived with her in Deleware for a couple years before he died in Coatsville Pa, in 1904, and Joseph Stringer Sr. born about 1875. He was in the Pa emergency militia for civil war 27th regiment company K. He died in 1904 in Coatsville Pa, and is buried in St. Cecilia cemetery. There are many other Stringer buried in St. Cecilia cemetery and St. Agnus Cemetery in Chester County but I cannot connect any of them as Gibbons Stringers father, mother, brothers, or sister. His obituary does not indicate his parents name but it does say that he was a coachman for Dr. Charles Huston. Any help with information on connecting Gibbons J. Stringer to a mother, father, sister, brother, or any other relative before 1820-23 I would greatly appreciate.
