Says I created this profile on changes Log. No I didn't, hadn't heard of Wikitree in 2010. Does that always happen when one changes the LNAB?

You created it.  But confusing to say it was created in 2010 when it's actually brand new.

After a merge is completed the "creation" date shown in the final profile is the oldest one of the merged profiles.

When you changed ("Fix(ed) the Last Name at Birth") of the profile you "created" Unknown-433937. A LNAB change is listed as a merge in the logs.

Thanks Ruben. I certainly wouldn't have created him, I adopted him. I'm just trying to get these profiles merged so that we can see what is going on. At the moment it is very confusing trying to work out who these people are meant to be. I know they're all myth but at least we can get the myth right. Anyone know of a source other than the Ynglinga Saga? I do so hope there isn't one.

But surely there must be tertiary sites that have organized all this stuff already?

Tut, tut. If they're all derived from the Ynglinga Saga I'd rather use that. Wikitree should have stopped at Harald Fairhair. Think I can cope with different people with the same names, it's the same people with different names that are driving me nuts.

there are/were two profiles:

Unknown-433937 (Dag De Vestmare) -- created by C Mackinnon 1 Aug 2018

De_Vestmare-1 (Dag De Vestmare) -- created by someone no longer listed as a gedcom import in 2010. No other changes until adopted and merged by C Mackinnon 1 Aug 2018.

The two were merged together into Unknown-433937 by C Mackinnon 1 Aug 2018

The logs seem pretty clear. Where are you seeing that you created a profile in 2010?

Ah, Ruben read the logs even more accurately than I did. Apparently I missed the Last Name at Birth change (which looks just like a merge)
