Closed Accounts of Presumed Living Former Members

Since WikiTree has opted to follow GDPR guidelines, should the closed accounts of former members who are presumed to be still living be set to Unlisted?

example profile: Birdsong-1

edit: The intent of my question is to determine if we should have a more consistent policy regarding the profiles of former members.

Not all profiles for former members are set to less than Unlisted privacy levels like Birdsong-1. Some are set to Unlisted:

example profile 2: Albrecht-5

And, no doubt, other such profiles are actually deleted (no example).

My view is that we should treat the profiles of ALL former members the same - we should delete them.

If you are concerned about our former members policies, please post your opinions!

update: I see that Birdsong-1 has been set to Unlisted privacy.

edit: Should we presume that this is now the official policy the profiles of living former members?

edit 2: Thanks for reviewing this policy!

If the person was once a member, they authorized the creation of their profile and the publication of the name displayed on it. The Unlisted status is for people who never gave WikiTree permission to publish their names.

But didn't they revoke that permission when they deleted their accounts?
Resigning an account does not revoke the permissions given when a member joins. See section 5 of the Terms of Service at https://www.wikitree.com/about/terms.html

So by joining WikiTree, one cannot control WikiTree's use of one's personal data and profile even if one terminates one's account?

And having been a full member, one is effectively a member for life, with no privacy rights similar to non-members?

edit: The corporate legalities are outside the intent of my question, but everyone can feel free to continue commenting on this part of the issue!

Thanks for your comments, Ellen!
