Why doesn't my starting each line with a single pound sign produce a numbered list as is stated in the style guide? [closed]

I tried it on Zadock Noble-54, a work in progress. All it gives me is the number 1. I'm sure I followed the instructions exactly as they were stated in the "Style Guide".  Could someone tell me what's wrong?  Thank you.

You need to take the blank lines out from between the items in your lists.  It's interpreting each one as a separate list.  I did one for you.

Thanks for that reminder,  Kyle !
Beautiful. Such an easy fix. Thank you so much. I'll remember to not do extra lines in the future. Did it say that anywhere in the instructions?  I don't remember seeing that. Perhaps a little addition would aid all of us who are new at this. Thank you again.
Help page updated, that you for the suggestion.
