G2G: Does anyone have information about the surname Gross in Tennessee?

Question

My great-great grandmother was a Gross. Her father, Jim (James) Gross was born in 1869 in Tennessee, and moved to Texas. There is no indication of who his parents are. If anyone thinks they could help, any information on the surname Gross in Tennessee would be much appreciated, as well as any knowledge which may help with the search for his parents.
