Who is this John Field, b. abt 1600? [closed]

Hmmm, methinks this guy is straight mythology. I can’t find any sources, ANY! My interest lies in him being the purported father of Thomas, the purported father of Mary Field Scruggs.

This John is from a back-in-the-day 2011 gedcom import by, yep, anonymous anonymous.

Any of our super sleuths help out here? Thanks!

This tree appears to come from the website

In particular, John's profile is this one:

Perhaps it is interesting that someone changed some of the dates before importing the data into Wikitree.

Familypedia is cited on Mary's profile, but that gives her a different grandfather

All the early Fields are supposed to be in the Biig Book of Fields

And then some.  People do seem to have a knack of appearing in Pierce's books who don't appear anywhere else.

This is interesting. Is this "John Field" related to Sir John Field, b 1525 East Ardsley England? What does it mean that a question is closed?

Pip this isn't my area of speciality, so I'm not going to attempt it, but I would suggest you start with more recent profiles.

From what I can see there are no sources on the profile for Mary Field Scruggs that are worth anything, particularly proving her maiden name is Field.

In fact there is nothing on the two daughters that proves their maiden names ...

I would confirm all of that before attempting to start on John Field.

Thanks, John. I’ll move in that direction first. Thanks!

I just linked John b abt 1611 to his father Field-446

Beryl, are you citing F C Pierce as the source for this connection? It is the only citation on the profile of John b 1611. Caution. And please note there is already another son attached of the same given name. There are so many issues with this family that the connections should be made with multiple primary source documentation. You can find a lot of notes from RJ on this in various threads on this family and other writings by Pierce.
