WikiTree profile: William Morgan
in Genealogy Help by Marlin Morgan Jr G2G Rookie (280 points)
Marlin, can you narrow down the search for us with a place?
The linked profile is at the end of a long line of unsourced profiles with no locational information. Marlin, it might be best to start from what you know and have sources for and work back step by step rather that trying to figure out William without first checking your link to him.
I agree with Linda, I went to James and found 18,029 people with a birthday in 1830.  You really need to start closer in time  and work backwards.
No sources, no locations, and no mothers!

Marlin, are you trying to connect to this Morgan family?  I agree with the others that you need to start with more recent relatives and work backwards.  If you can fill in the blanks on the linked Morgan line, you'd make a significant contribution!
I have added some details to some of the earlier profiles in this line. It seems likely that Dorcena (Morgan) Williams  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Morgan-19647  was actually named "Darcenia":  A Darcenia Williams died in the same location on the same date as the date and location provided in the original profile for Dorcena:

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/75356848/darcenia-williams,

I added two census records -- from the 1900 and the 1910 US census records, to her profile and to that of her father, John Morgan. Her mother's name was apparently "Lula", but I didn't find her mother's maiden name. I didn't attempt to go any farther back in time, since it seems there could be quite a bit to unravel and straighten out (including the given names of the family members, Dorcena and Jno, which I believe are Darcenia and John.

Good work Reba.
Thank you, Lynda!
I started the search starting what I knew from my parents and worked back. I viewed bibles, county records and cementary records. All lead me back to William Morgan.
Great!  Next step is to enter that info into WikiTree profiles, including your sources.  Then we can help you expand, without rehashing things you already know.
I agree with Herbert. We could be duplicating effort if you already have a lot of sourced information about these people. It will be much better if you add it to their profiles before we start the next level of searching further back.

Marlin.  Welcome to WikiTree.  Instead of looking for an eighteenth century relative, start by adding information that helps us know more about you. If you are interested in Morgans, add information about your father and grandfather. At this time we do not even know what continent you and your family have connections with. When we know more, you will be amazed at the help that is available.
