Robert Atkins and wife Ann Teskey Atkins, emigrated from Ireland arriving in Quebec by not later than June 1825 as they along with larger extended Family groups are then enumerated for that year's Census of Lower Canada. In particular....remains a long unresolved question as to where exactly, their eldest child Catherine McCartney, also my direct ancestor, was actually born: Ireland or Quebec?
It'd not even be of such curiosity - except she herself went to such great lengths to convince one and all she'd been born in Ontario. A factual impossibility!
