From page 542, The Parochial and family history of the deanery of Trigg Manor, in the county of Cornwall. Vol II. Sir John Maclean, 1876. Maclean, Page 540 to 553: Parish of Mabyn: Hamely alias Hamley, including family tree. Available Online through https://archive.org.

 In 1309 Osbert Hamley was defendant with others in a suit of novel disseizin at the instance of William le Poer of Trengothel of a tenement in Trewheran; 2 and he is again twice mentioned in the following year. 3

                                                                 M}

2 Assize Rolls, Cornwall, 30th Edward I,  2 } 1. m. 16d

                                                                21}

                                 N}

3 Ibid, 4th Edward II, 2} 2. M. 10.

                               15}

  These notation appear in the footnotes. I understand that 30th Edward 1 means 30 year since Edward I reigned so about 1302 but what does the rest of it mean?  Can anyone you help?

Surely it means the 30th year of Edward I's reign.

No help with the rest except that presumably the Assize Rolls can be accessed using it.

The “m” stands for membrane (which strip of parchment); the “d” stands for dorse or backside of the membrane. So the reference tells you which assize roll to look in and then exactly where in the roll to find it. Unless you are looking at the original roll, it’s not actually going to help you much.
