Fun new way to add to my tree

+8 votes
So I just love geneology bank.  I have this whole town Argyle, Illinois I'm related to and Rockford papers were great with publishing gossippy stuff.  The articles about weddings name wedding attendants and guests.  So my goal is to connect and make profiles for those mentioned in the articles.  They are all relatives so I can connect but they also all had the same names and it takes a little working back and sometimes I have to add parents to get to them but it's kinda fun.

Excellent, Joelle! You've found a way that is fun for you and works to added branches (and twigs!) to the world family tree. Way to go!
I did the same thing but based on not so happy topic.

I discovered that my great-grandfather's brother had lost his wife and 3 children in the Columbus, Ohio flood of 1913.  I made the flood a category and added profiles based on death certificates I could find where cause of death was listed as accidental drowning due to flood.

There were only a couple profiles that could be linked into the greater wikitree.  I should go back and try to link more.

I like your idea -- I might just pick a happier topic next time...
