Would like to get a Quaker cemetery added to the Indiana category. Not sure how something like that is done.

Coloma Friends Cemetery in Parke County, Indiana. I will be adding more to the cemetery.

Here is how I proceeded... look at Indiana cemeteries 1st, I see Quaker Cemeteries and Parke County as subs and so checked them.  Coloma Friends Cemetery not found. Next, I looked closely at another Quaker cemetery on top is Arba. So open it in edit mode and just leave it open in a tab. Then go to the profile you gave and type in the name of new cat using your understanding it must contain a Name, and Place.  When saving you will get a flag saying it does not exist as already known so save anyway. The category we just created is red. Click it.  On new preview page copied subs from Arba replacing the locations to fit the new category.  Also add a little info on how you know and links.  Click preview and see what may not match up (is red) and noted Parke is not known as a city so I just deleted that parameter to add to now as the location is also known as Coloma and Rocky Run (very small).  In the summary box typed New Category and saved.  Viola! on the profile the new category is no longer red.  In addition added the new category we now have use for on the Quakers in Indiana page.  I hope this helps!

Thanks you so much!! Working with some orphan profiles that aren't sourced, trying to fix that.  I will be adding a few more to that cemetery. I am very new to using categories, and must be getting old, ,because you lost me along the way!! lol

Thanks again

I am always trying to learn these myself!

Just trying to guess how many different ways a particular category can be easily accessed is a primary reason for the free spaces under Quakers in The States and Quakers in Canada in which as needed categories will be listed.  There is more on hierarchies at Quaker Project Category Help and Help:Categorization . I did not mean to have confused you...   Perhaps, the part of comparing what is linked with a similar category and copying that concept?  Did you know you can find most of the project free spaces by clicking on the Project Image found as a primary?

Thanks for the links. They will come in handy!
