when I verify a match, how do I connect it to my tree?

I am a newbie I am working on a very large GEDCOM(~3,000 records). I have gone through and created matches. Now as I am building my tree, I want to "attach" that match to my tree. How do I do that? Or is just matching enough?

In some cases, I have additional sources and data, but I am hesitant to add them to the match. I don't want to mess up anyone's work.

Thanks,

Matching is sufficient. Unless there is a genetic relationship, it shouldn't be  attached to your profile, your tree.

Data, it's everyone's tree, if you have data, and can document it, add it.
