Merging these two? Help!

Question

I believe these two are the same person (they married the same person on the same day) but I don't know how to merge to make "Hooper" the last name at birth?

I'm not related, just trying to help merge the duplicate :) Thanks for any tips!

Hi, to have Hooper as the ultimate Last Name at Birth (LNAB) you should set the merge so that it merges Hooper Pottle-1 into Hooper-209, which basically means you initiate the merge from the Hooper Pottle profile.

I also like to include as much detail as possible as to why I think these two profiles are the same person, including why I think Hooper is the correct LNAB.  Eg. Something like 'the sources on the Hooper profile indicate the name should be Hooper'.

Since both profiles are orphaned and have Open privacy, E Childs should be able to merge them immediately. Just pay very careful attention to the merge form, which will ask you if you are sure that the destination name is the correct one. If it isn't, use the link to change the merge direction before you complete the merge.
