Cayetano Romo de Vivar and Maria Josefa Vallejo were married (date unknown) possibly in Jalostotitlan, Mexico, and at least five children baptized there:
Mariana Josefa Bernardina, c. 27 May 1786
Maria Josefa, c. 7 Jan 1795
Antonio Mariano Martin, c. 24 Feb 1785
Jose Alex, c. 26 Jul 1789
Maria Antonia Dorotea, c. 9 Feb 1793

Does anyone know who the parents of Cayetano and Maria Josefa were?

Hi George.

The parents of María Josefa were Antonio Vallejo and Feliciana Alvarez.

María Josefa had a sister named Ana Gertrudis. She married Antonio Anastasio Gutiérrez. They had a daughter named Antonia.  The christening godparents of Antonia were Antonio Vallejo and Feliciana Alvarez according to the christening record of Antonia.

María Josefa and Cayetano Romo had a daughter named María de Jesús. Her christening godparents were Antonio Vallejo and Feliciana Alvarez.

Antonia and María de Jesús were born in the same place: Tecameca. It is clear that they were first cousins.

The christening record of Mariana Josefa Bernardina (The daughter of Cayetano Romo and María Josefa Vallejo) closes the circle. Her christening godparents were Ana Gertrudis (The sister of María Josefa) and Anastasio Antonio Gutiérrez.

I marked the parents of María Josefa "uncertain" because there is no source that directly and clearly supports the relationship.

This makes sense. There were very few Vallejo families in Jalostotitlan. The main ones were Spanish, i’ve connected most of the rest, so I assume they are all related. The are some Indian families, most likely not related, and a few mestizo families which could be related, but more research is needed.

PS. Your comment deserves the best answer star!
Too find there parents ,would need too find there marriage record.

You only have part of there name. There name would end with there mother

Maiden last name and there fathers last name.and you may not have all of

there first names.I recently did a Duarte ,and Ponce, and got stuck abt 1800 too.Remember,Quill pens, acidic ink, poor quality paper.Try reading a original Church document.
