Need page for unnamed infant guidlines

+7 votes
Unnamed infantXXX was recently changed to unknown on two profiles.  What page explains the usage?
in The Tree House by Beulah Cramer G2G6 Pilot (579k points)
retagged by Anthony McCabe
Were the changes limited to the first name fields, Beulah?

Could you post the profile IDs for them?
The changes were to the first name field.  I prefer not to throw a public
brickbat at someone who acted in good faith.  I have requested why she
felt it was a better choice than I had made.  I explained that after sourcing
over 4000 profiles in this GEDCOM I have found that when all of the rest of the family is sourced and named that I selected this designation for the
child with no reason for a given first name.
All misunderstandings have been cleared up to every ones satisfaction.
We both will keep making improvements to profiles on wikitree.

Good to know.
The help page referred to by Ros states that the correct usage is "Unnamed Infant." It should under no circumstances be changed to Unknown. Unknown should normally only be used for an unknown LNAB or for an individual whose surname is known but the given name is not. This does not apply to infants who die before they are named.
