Question

Jenkins was terrible singer played by Meryl Streep in the 2016 movie based on Jenkins’ life. Streep was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Jenkins. Might she be included in the Notables Project?

I agree, Pip!  She is now a notable, and I added a photo, a very short bio, a few categories, and a few more sources.  She is buried in the same cemetery as my 2nd great grandfather and immigrant ancestor, Nicholas Klein.

There are in the meanwhile several versions of presentations of her life. I saw two different musical versions, one in Serbia and one in Germany. The woman who played her in Serbia said in an interview: "The hardest part for me was to learn to sing wrongly."
