Help with John Canterbury Jr and his two wives

So here's the problem:

John Canterbury married two women named Elizabeth. These two Elizabeth have a father named Obediah and a mother named Mary Cooke. The little research I have found says this is true but I have a hard time believing that the names are the same. Could this be true or are these two women the same with different last names?
