How do you find duplicates to merge? I know from seeing the listings in various places that my mother has several entries. How do I find the duplicates?

Another way that I find duplicates, almost any kind of duplicate, is to click on the last name to get a list of all profiles in WikiTree with that last name.

For example, Vanderburg:

https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/VANDERBURG

Then click on "Table View":

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Surname&s=VANDERBURG&cln=&order=name&secondary_order=&layout=table&u=

Then click on "Birth" to sort by birth order:

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Surname&s=VANDERBURG&cln=0&order=dobup&secondary_order=&layout=table&u=

You can also click on "include current last name":

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Surname&s=VANDERBURG&cln=1&order=dobup&secondary_order=&layout=table&u=

From there you can scroll down to find the person you're looking for. If there are duplicates, then they will be either right next to the person (if the birth date is also exactly the same) or nearby (if the birth date is close).

If you are looking for any kind of duplicate, it's easy enough to scroll through the names, looking for duplicates that are next to each other. Obviously one needs to confirm if it is truly a duplicate by looking at other data fields, such as birth dates and location, death dates and locations, and connections to family members.

I have found many duplicates quite by accident using this method.

Welcome Claudia!

Scroll to the bottom of the profile page, where it says Matches and Merges.  There should be a link to 'find matches for Margie.'
