Don't seem to be able to initiate proposed merge

Question

I have just created profile Scott-29372 without receiving any of the normal warnings that he exists already. However I soon found that he did, Scott-5625. So I want to initiate a merge which I have done many times before. But when I propose the merge I just get a message saying 

'A proposal to merge John Scott and John Scott was approved by Charlie Varnell and MatchBot WikiTree. The merge was completed on May 15, 2015. See https://www.WikiTree.com/wiki/Scott-5625 for the merged profile.'

I don't understand what the message is trying to tell me.

I've just proposed the merge but I don't know what the problem was...

Thank you Joe - that seemed to start the merge process.

Now it just remains to find out what I did wrong!
