I created a page that is filled with sources for Rowley Researchers.  Go to the following link for the Sources-Rowley page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Sources-Rowley%2C_Rowley_Name_Study

I'm afraid Natalie is correct here. The page you created is in the Category: namespace, but does not fit the purpose or intent of a category.

If you are having issues with a space page, please let me know and I can assist you in that matter rather than using this category page as a workaround.

This should really be a freespace page, not a category. You are not grouping any pages (free-space or profile.) It's a list.

Is a freespace page different from a Space page? If not, see #1 answer above. If it is different and fits within the hierarchy, how do you make one?
free-space=Space page, yes.

I don't see any hierarchy there in the first place. You have a link to the space page from the category and you have that category nested under Rowley Name Study. There is nothing being grouped, which is the purpose of a category in the first place:to group pages (profile pages and free-space pages).

Thanks for that, I have https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rowley-817 as an ancestor, still trying to find her parents.

For sources for her marriage I have Sharon, CT Births, Marriages,  Deaths and NYGBR 37:256 "Of Salisbury", but that's all. I don't have parents for either of them. Let me know if you do succeed.

I tried making a SPACE page and it ended up being wrongly placed on the Rowley Name Study category page because it was a space page that listed with the profiles, not the subcategories. No thanks. That ruins the hierarchy. I need a way for the pages to be organized in a reasonable way, not arbitrarily because one "must" be a space page and the others are subcategory pages. It just makes no sense. No wonder I get lost so often around WikiTree.

If you wanted it to appear in the subcategories, then every one of those sources you have listed would have to have [[Category: Sources-Rowley, Rowley Name Study]] on them.  As you cannot do that (some of them are external books) it can't be a category page showing a group of categorised items.

Category page has subcategories on it.
Subcategories have categorised items within them

What you have there is a list of useful books, which belongs on a freespace page.

I just filled up the page on Rowley sources, so enjoy. Still you can contact me if you have questions. My database is available for lookup. Unfortunately, it covers primarily US Rowleys.

See: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Sources-Rowley%2C_Rowley_Name_Study#Sources

Others have added to it, and are welcome to add more.
