Hi Pat, and welcome!

Just any info?  About this James and Charlotte?

"United States Census, 1850," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MCTJ-HKF : 12 April 2016), James Shay, Colesville, Broome, New York, United States; citing family 442, NARA microfilm publication M432 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).

Thanks for the star, Gene!
I'm specifically looking for info on his oldest daughter, Harriet Shay, who married Daniel Pickett (my ancestors).  The above does not mention her.

Any chance this is them?  Harriet and Daniel both born in New York (you have to look at the image).  His parents Connecticut and Massachusetts, hers both in New York.  Age is about right to be oldest child of James and Charlotte.

"United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MNCV-222 : 16 July 2017), Harriet Picket in household of Daniel Picket, Cuttings, Clackamas, Oregon, United States; citing enumeration district ED 14, sheet 162C, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 1080; FHL microfilm 1,255,080.

A more specific question, with more background info, will produce better answers.

Pat, the link is for one of James sons, but mentions James and Charlotte. You can branch off of this and have several leads to follow and come up with some sources.
