Do you have a question?

The Fetterly family split loyalties. Philip and Philip Jr. American side.

Brother Peter British side

Philip Fetterly (Fetterly-36) served as a private.  Here are the references to his service:

  1. "State of New York: Report of the State Historian, 1896, Colonial Series." 3rd Annual Report. Albany, NY: 1897. Vol.2, p818, 1767, Philip Fatterlie, Lt. Veeder's Company, Colony of Rensselaerwyck.
  2. Title: "New York in the Revolution as Colony and State", Author: Roberts, James A., Comptroller, Publication: 2ed. Albany, NY: Brandow Printing Co, 1898, Repository: Note: NSDAR Library, Wash, D.C., Media: Book, Page: vol. 2, Text: 3rd Rgmt, Albany Co, NY Militia.

Thanks "Eddie King".  I was the one who wrote Philip Fetterly's Find A Grave memorial.  But thanks for sending the link.  Both he and his son Philip Fetterly Jr. deserve to be recognized for their military service.
There is a discussion at FamilyTreeDNA about Philip Fetterly and his wife Anna Margaretha Schumann.  See https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/palatine-dna-project/activity-feed.

X,

I was hoping it would be easy!   But no.

The following link lists at least some of the Albany Milita's 3rd Regiment soldiers.... you might want to add it to support the Rootsweb link.

 http://www.americanwars.org/ny-american-revolution/albany-county-third-regiment-lbr.htm

Here's a WikiTree list of  New York Regiments    https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_York_Militia%2C_American_Revolution   but they don't have a 3rd Albany Regiment,  nor are the Colonels names included on this list.  http://dunhamwilcox.net/ny/ny_rev_3d_reg.htm

Bottom line,   he needs his Revolutionary War sticker!   You should probably add as many Rev War facts as you can find and check with the Rev War project members about adding his unit. (If it's not listed under his commanding officer's name.)

Enjoy the journey.
