Can someone merge two PPP profiles? [closed]

Agie Mabie (Mebie-6) has married Peter Sypher, who appears to be the same person, Petrus Syffer, as Aggye Eve (Maybe) Syffer's husband.  Aggye Eve (Mabee-89).  The husband's profiles still need merging.

Both Agie and Aggye have the same parents, Jeremias Mabie and Annettje VanAmburgh, which suggests the proper LNAB for Agie and Aggye is Mabie, not Mabee.

mabeesociety.org/MaySoc/g0/p133.htm#i3965 has copies of wills relating to the Sypher/Syffer and Mabie/Mabee families; however, both profiles are currently, unsourced

There are no documents suggesting that Agie's maiden name was Mebie

Welcome to the wonderful world of New Netherland name variations, David. Working in New Netherland genealogy, I've had to discard much of what I thought I knew (that is, many preconceptions) about people's names...

This particular family's original (French) name is determined to have been Mabille. In New Netherland records, it was spelled Mebie, Mabee, Mabie, Mebee, Mebi, Maybee, Maybie, Mabi, Maby, and possibly a few other spellings I don't recall.

It's likely that various sources have decreed that one or another of these names is the One True Spelling and all others are errors created by lesser branches for family, but that's not how we do things at WikiTree. According to WikiTree's general naming conventions and the specific naming conventions of the New Netherland project, we determine names from records made during (or sometimes near to) the person's life. And we don't like to change LNABs unless and until the records needed to ascertain the person's name have been documented in the person's profile. For a baptism record, this means a faithful transcript of the record (not a paraphrase from a modern book), including the date, the names of both parents as spelled in the record, the name of the child, and the names of witnesses. These two unsourced profiles for the same person were both PPPed in hopes that someone would find and document the relevant records in the profile (or at least document the places where they looked, but were unable to find records) in order to make a case for the correct LNAB. Many of the Dutch Church records are online in free sources, so it's not necessarily difficult to find the records. And, by the way, Dutch women (including New Netherland women) generally didn't use their husband's last names, so we don't add married names to their profiles unless there are records showing them using those names.

Both profiles are still unsourced,  with no evidence to indicate the spelling for the LNAB.

Sheesh! Now I've received six email notifications about profile messages complaining that project protection is preventing these profiles from being merged. I've attempted to explain that the protection protection won't be removed until somebody goes to the effort to supply one or more sources for these unsourced profiles -- ideally, records to provide evidence for what this woman's LNAB was. I gave advice on how to find the necessary records.

Apparently, however, it's much easier to nag me than it is to do the research and edit the profile.

In his profile comments, Rory did supply a secondary source -- http://maybeesociety.org/MaySoc/g0/p134.htm#i4015 -- for this woman's family. The entry for Agie on the website is at http://maybeesociety.org/MaySoc/g0/p133.htm#i3965 . It indicates that she was baptized in the Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow and it gives the baptism date. The  records for that church are readily available online, for free. I found her baptism at https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=nnc1.cu54304792;view=2up;seq=110 . It should be very easy to visit that page and copy out a transcript of the baptism record, including the spellings of her name and her parents' names, and add the information to one of her profiles. Will someone do that? I could do it, but this isn't my family nor a person I'm interested in except in my role as project leader, and I keep hoping that other project members will learn to do their own research on New Netherland profiles.

And it's interesting to note that the LNAB in the baptism record is not one of the name spellings discussed previously in this thread (it's not Mabille, Mebie, Mabee, Mabie, Mebee, Mebi, Maybee, Maybie, Mabi, or Maby).
