Only keystrokes are changes, not mouse clicks.

I put in a few finishing touches to a biography by selecting text and clicking the mouse to turn it into italics. WikiTree refused to let me save it on the grounds that I had not made any changes. Doing a preview showed the italics but still did not register changes. Finally I put something in the description box and then could save.

Now I suspect that if I did that description by cutting-and-pasting instead of typing, it would still not register changes. Am I right?

One space bar hit and then you can save - you dont have to add a whole new description. Just do ONE Space Bar hit - which is a keyboard change - that is all it needs!!
Pasting from the Windows clipboard is fine, it's inserting with the toolbar buttons that doesn't register.
I though we had to insert or paste with the keyboard now - ctrl c to copy and ctrl v to paste. If those are keyboard clicks then surely they would be registered?
I've had the same thing when I put ref tags round a source that is already in the bio, because I highlighted using the mouse then clicked the button to create the tags, also using the mouse. I did a line break using the keyboard, then it acknowledged it.

I don't use the Toolbar, myself -- but sounds like a bug with the toolbar (and maybe in combination with the browser you are using)

When you clicked the Italics button, did it add two single quotes around the text? Or was it WYSIWYG, and italicized the text immediately. (when I tried it in by browser, firefox, it added two single quotes around the text)

When my computer is acting squirrely, I clear the browser caches, then turn the computer all the way off (not restart). Once the computer is off, start again from scratch and try the problem page. This releases held memory and usually fixes the squirrels. wink
