Remove a Photo

I mistakenly added a photo for Martha Salo.

Born 12 Dec 1905 in Copper Cliff, McKim, Nippissing, Ontario

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Salo-118&public=1

I deleted any reverence to the photo as WIKI over time will delete the photo.

However I waited and trying to add the same photo to Bertha Salo Born 17 Feb 1912 in Copper Cliff, McKim, Nippissing, Ontario https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Salo-121

I am logged in and it says to login to some server and I can't.

Please remove the photo for Martha or change it to Bertha.

Thank You,

Ken

Hi, Ken,

Go to the edit tab of Bertha's profile and remove the image template from the biography section and save.

Then click the images tab. Click on the link at the top that says "Stanley Salo Private Collection". On the following page click the add/edit link beneath Bertha's name (below the "In this image" heading) on the right side. On the next page, you will see this:

People & Things in the Image:

Choose "REMOVE from image" and save changes.

Once you have done that, please upload the image to Bertha's page. It appears that the photo you are trying to attach to Bertha doesn't exist or is corrupt.

Ken, I'm not absolutely certain about what's happening here, but it appears that you have some photos in a "Stanley Salo Private Collection" that are stored on a server somewhere.  You are presenting them in the Biography of the profiles in-line rather than in the Images section by using some wiki markup that I'm not familiar with.  There don't appear to be any actual photos stored with either of the profiles in question, so I don't think the normal process for deleting them would apply.  I would think you could delete an unwanted photo on a profile just by going to the Edit window and deleting the code for it.  But I'm not sure what it takes to call that photo from another profile.  Do you know where the images are actually stored?

Perhaps someone with more technical savvy will chime in on this.

Hi Ken,

I probably didn't find the photo you were concerned about,  since you had already removed  all profiles from the photo.  (Someone might know how to still find it,  but probably not me.)

I did see that both Bertha and Martha appeared in a photo with "the Friendly Cat" .... so I added Bertha to that picture too.

Great pictures.

Hopefully, you can reload the picture soon.
