I am working on this ancestor's profile and I found his will (back door) at Family Search. He died unmarried and without issue. His will names about 14 slaves that he freed at his death. I am in progress of transcribing this for his profile. I would like to include the names in a section and perhaps do a free space for the transcription and then link that to the profiles that I would like to create for these people.
The will is here:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GP34-DS1?i=67&wc=11534893&cc=1875188
Here is my attempt at transcribing the names. I added the commas temporarily for readability.
"Viz 1st my will is that all my negroes be free at my death namely Lettice and her children to wit: John, Washington, Levi (?), Mariah, Menilda, Keziah and her children Camy (?), Harriet, Thomas, Enoch, and Virginia, Esther and her children Charles, Issac, Jenny and Matilda and also Nans children Sanford, Polly, Frederick, William and Edwin"
If anyone has the time to check this, I would really appreciate it.
