Why is this?

Can someone please explain why 2NZEF was changed to 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force and yet 1NZEF wasn't changed as well?

Do not say convention, because both names are valid

We are correcting errors from provided lists, so if 1NZEF wasn't on the list at the same time, it didn't get changed, or someone didn't get to it yet. (lists are numerical and alphabetical order.)

It's not that the name isn't valid, it's that it is in all caps, so NZEF isn't in the exceptions list that is programmed. There are many all caps. They are here: http://www.softdata.si/wt/Cat/Err_8029.htm This is the list as of Date of report: 2018-08-14 11:53:53. If it needs to go back to 2NZEF, this can be done. We may have a way to mark these as "false suggestions" in the future, but for now, this is not available.

Isn't it providing more information to category users to have it spelled out? (Really, I had to look up what it was, but I'm not from New Zealand. It helps someone like me understand what this category contains.)

Ah right, so like the email you sent me regarding another category name? (which I'll get back to you with shortly)

Regarding the last part of the question, I actually don't know why it was like that - I could only assume so that it would be easier for others in the terms of spelling.
Being from New Zealand, I am doing what I can (also doing what I can with the Wanted Categories)
We all do what we can and hope that we aren't undoing someone elses "can". It is all appreciated.
