One of the easiest ways to join is to add the project sticker to your ancestor profile.

If you are seeking records and/or information about a particular Baty/Beaty/Beatty ancestor, these pages are a great place to post for your missing data.

Hope to see you there!

I'm a Beatty descendant.  My maternal Grandfather is Milton Beatty 1903-1960.
Hello Heidi and welcome!  The space page for the Beatty project is open, please add yourself and indicate what you're working on and if we can help!
Hi. My earliest ancestor was James Beatty a blacksmith in Co. Sligo Ireland c1780/90. He married Catherine Kilchrist of that county and had John Beatty my g-grandfather John A. Beatty a blacksmith who died in St John's parish (C of I) in 1865. I am Beattie-247 on this WikiTree, also of the BP2000 Project (GenMatch Haplogroup R1b-A476). Please add me to your project.

Peter D. Beattie

Hi Peter, thanks for your interest.  I've added your name to the members list on the project page, all it is missing is some detail as to what you're currently working on.  The page is open to edit, please add some details as to what you're working on, brick walls you're trying to break, etc.  Also, if you have any resources, you can edit the page as you like to add them:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Beatty_Name_Study#Member_list_and_what_we.27re_working_on

I see that you added the project sticker to your ancestor John Beatty (b. aft. 1587 in Scotland).  You can also add the sticker to his descendants (your other ancestors) and even to your own profile!

Also, I just created a category that you can add to your own profile that will put you in the member category list, just add (near the top of your own bio): [[Category:Beatty Name Study Members]]

You might add which family tree number you are on the BP 2000 - I'm descended from family 500.

cheers and welcome!

Baty/Beatty men from the Anglo-Scottish border are very closely related to the Littles from this area, but several hundred years ago. This is reflected in the Y-DNA.

Hopefully there will be some useful collaboration with the Little studies. Let’s us know if we can help.

Best wishes Chris Little-4631

Hi Chris, and thanks for your comment.  Yes, I've seen a lot of interaction with the Littles in the BP2000 Y-DNA project.  I've also seen a lot of Harringtons and some other surnames.  If you can, post a link to the Little page here and I'll link it on the Baty/Beaty/Beatty pages.

The Cumberland Little is probably most relevant project at  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Cumberland%2C_Little_Name_Study
