Looking for Freemans in Liverpool NS might have come from Barnsable MA

My ancestor Elisha Freeman from Barnstable brought a large family group among founders of Liverpool Nova Scotia.  You can find his information here.  Other early settlers of Liverpool are listed on WikiTree here

If you can give me a little more detail about James, I may be able to help you narrow it down.  We might even be distant cousins :)

What I was able to find on James Freeman born in Liverpool NS Oct.2 1829 died in Gloucester Ma 7/9/1888

possibly fathers name was Sylvanus Freeman... maybe 1806....but there it gets cloudy

They are both family names!  Oct 2, 1829 is a precise date, may be more helpful than the middle initial. I'll see what I can find.

His marriage record is helpful, it gives his parents first names. There is only one set with that combination in Liverpool at the time, so I started to flesh out that branch of the family on WikiTree. You can find his possible father here. 

You can see that the connection between James and his parents is a little speculative, and I suppose that's why you posted your question!  

The Freeman Genealogy doesn't contain much information on people who were living at the time it was written, and the Nova Scotia online information is sparse during that particular period, but there are records! Every year I see more of the paper files have been digitized. If you can get to Nova Scotia, I'd put my money on the Tom Raddall Research Centre in Liverpool, and the Nova Scotia Archives in Halifax.

I've added James M Freeman to my own research list, but I do want you to be aware that I'm on the West Coast.  It may be a year or two before I get back to NS to work on that list.  Don't let me get in your way.
