Owlcock family in Cornwall, England

On the parish transcription for Gulval, Cornwall (see pic on Honor Owlcock's profile, address below), there is also a Margarett Owlcock getting married only a few months before Honor in 1656. I cant make the assumption that Margarett is Honor's sister, so I'm looking for go further back, a baptism record or such, for both Honor and Margarett. I cant find the Google Books link to Gulval Parish (I had it and lost it!). Any help here?

‘S ok! We’ll figure them out an connect them.

I notice on Honor's page there is a comment about her possibly being the widow of Mathew Owlcock, and he did die on 27 July 1655 according to the Cornwall OPC database (though this is transcribed from the book).

Can't find anything about a wedding of Mathew Owlcock and a Honor though.

Well, that would certainly throw that surname off the tree for us. Hmm.... So now the choice is between Honor being a Woulcocke (whatever the spelling) by birth or by marriage. Even though the unsourced tree has this possible marriage, we can’t really discount it since there may have been a source someone saw.

If I had to choose, then maybe it’s best to leave her surname alone, and keep the note in the bio as is, until further research can confirm one way or the other. (“One way, or another, I’m gonna getchu, getchu, getchu, one way....”)

I found this link to the will abstract of Matthew Woolcock/Oullcock:

http://west-penwith.org.uk/probate/cro5.htm#DRW36

He left a widow, Honor Woolcock, and two sons, Thomas and William Woolcock. She may be their mother. Also, because they were living in Gulval, I believe it is highly likely that our Honor was the widow of Matthew Woolcock/Oullcock of Gulval.
Darn it! I hate complications! So, what are we to make of this? Is Honor Woolcock of the will the same as the Honor who married our Traviler? If we could find some other document to clarify the issue!

Do we put his on Honor’s profile until further research?
I don't know. But, if she is the same person, she named 2 sons Thomas. Thomas Woolcock and Thomas Treviller.

I put the info in the research notes section.
Wonder if the name Thomas was one that represented both husbands’ families. (If there were two husbands!)
There's the possibility that Thomas Woolcock/Owlcock is Honor's stepson, the eldest son of Mathew by a previous marriage?

And/or the possibility that Thomas Woolcock, died before Thomas Treviller was born?

Haven't found anything yet to confirm either of those possibilities.

Pip, I couldn't find the one you wanted, all had no preview. But if you are working on Cornish Families, you might like to check the resources out Here :)

Many thanks for this, Wendy. Cool flag, too. I gotta get me one.

The FamilySearch Wiki for Gluval has a link to the Google book amongst other links to parish records but I couldn't access the full text on Google Books.

The book is in amongst the original parish registers of Gluval in FamilySearch - see if this link works.

That’s it, John! Many thanks. Now to the reading. You’re a prince!

Thanks, Wayne! Good lead. I thought this couple might be the ones. Hopefully I can find a baptism record to prove definitively. Again, thanks!
