Once raw data is downloaded from Ancestry can it be uploaded to multiple sites?

Hi everyone, I have downloaded my raw data from Ancestry and uploaded it to GEDmatch. What I want to know is can I also upload my raw data to other sites or is it a case of one download from Ancestry to one upload to another site? If I can upload to another site what would be the best site for me to upload to? I have Irish, Scottish, English and European ancestry. Your help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can upload it to other sites. Just be sure not to unzip the file that you download as most of them require the zipped file. I would suggest that you consider: gedmatch, FTDNA, MyHeritage and LivingDNA.

You will have to pay $19 USD to upload to FT DNA IF YOU WISH TO USE their chromosome browser - but the matches will still be free.

Thank you Lynda and Robynne for your advice. I have uploaded my raw data to FTDNA and paid the unlocking fee. I am now navigating my way around this very interesting site.

You should also be able to upload the same file to My Heritage and that is for free.

You can either use the free basic account which limits your family tree size to 250, or pay to use the records and have an unlimited size family tree.

Thank you Robynne for your help. I uploaded my raw data to MyHeritage and found that I not only have a chromosome browser attached to every match I look at but they also provide (for the relevant matches) a visual of triangulated segments shared with a match. Plus when you look at a match it has graphics of where the common ancestor may originate from  as well as a list of matches who share DNA with you and the match you are looking at. Plus with those who have provided a tree, it is right there when you look at a match. Thank you again, Maree.

Yes I got all that as well after uploading my DNA to My Heritage as well.

And I also have just the basic account.

Too bad their records subscriptions for 1 year costs so much - I simply cannot afford it!!
