How can I protect my data? (names & documentation disappear or are replaced with nonsense)

I spend thousands of hours and dollars researching only to have that information deleted by wikitree!   I enter precise birth/death/marriage dates and certificates only to have the data replaced with inapplicable year dates!  There must be someway to lock the data so it doesn't not get changed!

An example profile would help.

Any member can edit open profiles, which makes it difficult to 'protect' them in a collaborative environment like ours.  If a particular member repeatedly takes inappropriate actions on your profiles, consider the Problems with Members process.  It's hard to give a specific answer without more context from you.

We need to see a profile that this occurred on.

Is the complaint that WikiTree does not recognize date formats like "07.XI.1919"?

Then there is some information about the recognized formats on this page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Date_Fields

On each profile, there is a Changes tab that gives a history of changes to each profile.  Here is an example for one of your Savage profiles.

Joseph is  a perfect example as the changes recorded do not include any of the deletions nor whom changed DOD to 1971-00-00 triggering the alert. The format day/roman-numeral-month/year has been in use over 1,000 years but wikitree developers chose to use the American format - which even the USA military does not use - simply to increase errors transcribing most trees with profiles in excess of 200-years.  Also, it seems you are not aware that when someone uploads a gedcom, wikitree deletes an existing profile - as well as ALL sibling profiles - and replaces it with a notice that the profile needs a manager and sources, resulting in the loss of over 1,000-years in my Hatch tree, and over 3,000 profiles, and countless documents!  Aloha!
Roman numerals?  The data you want to protect is Roman numeral months?  And months not so formatted are 'nonsense?'  No, the US military does not use Roman numeral months.  Nor do I believe it's accurate to say WikiTree has adopted the American format.  WikiTree uses the 'Arabic numeral day (space) three-letter month (space) four Arabic numeral year' date format (standard internationally for genealogy), which is not how most Americans write dates.
