[PIC] Is this your relative? MICKISH or MEEKESH (Ravenna NE, Buffalo Cty)

Found this photo in my grandma's genealogy files I am digitizing.  One of the ladies in the photo is not my relative, so I thought if someone recognizes her (or at least her surname) they might like to see/download the picture.

The slimmer lady on the left is my great-great-grandmother Anna (Doehler) Kluge.

The lady on the right is described as Anna's close friend "Mrs. Mickish."

(I have added the spelling MEEKESH to this entry thanks to another user who commented below)

They would have lived in Buffalo County, Nebraska near the town of Ravenna.  For time period reference, Anna lived 1852-1936.

If Mrs. Mickish is your ancestor, feel free to tag her if she has a WikiTree profile, and/or download the photo for your own files if you want.

There is a Louise A. Meekesh (1849-1932) buried in Highland Cemetery in Ravenna, Nebraska.  I wonder if this is her.      https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/44854477

That looks like it could very likely be her! Same location and very similar lifespan. Good find, thanks!

This is not my relative, but thank you for sharing a wonderful picture with us.

I wonder if they were neighbors, or church friends?

I just love pictures from this time period. People seem more real back then. Now people have those selfie sticks and are always sticking their tongues out when they take their pictures.

You just don't get a genuine picture of people like you do in this picture.

Thanks again for sharing.

Love it!
