250,000 of these Prayer cards were distributed to every Soldier in his Third Army.

I wanted to share this image of George Patton two-sided Prayer cards, with his signature to the community. Location: Germany. Date: 1944.

This is cool.

I find it interesting how the prayer, which was clearly newly composed for their present circumstances, uses the archaic language found in the King James Bible and traditional English prayers.

Thank you for sharing the signature of General Patton. Very interesting to read his Prayer card and to know that he was sending blessings to all of his men at Christmas.

Thank you for sharing this interesting document.

This kind of thing is so important to understanding the ways things were different for previous generations. Today you would never find the Army sending out prayer cards, especially related to a Christian holiday, to all the troops. Back then, no one thought twice.

Great find! Thank you for sharing it.
