I saw your post and thought I could help.  I went to Family Search.org and found this:  

Jacob Idom Spearman b. 7 Feb 1850 Anderson S.C.

Death:  30 March 1917 - Beulah Church Cemetery

Father:  Benjamin James Spearman born 1804 Anderson Co, and mother Katherine Idom - Born Abbeville Co. S.C.

Ok on Katherine Idom do you see her parents and could Idom be the same as Odom when this set of Spearman's was in Virginia they came to South Carolina with some Odoms. I don't know where I got Catherine Bryant from originally. Thanks for helping,

on the Spearman family I don't know what year they moved from Essx,Virginia to South Carolina but Benjamin Spearman's dad David Samuel Spearman was born in Virginia but then on David Samuel Spearman's dads Will it list as friends or witnesses a George Odom and William Oldham that's why I was asking if Odom may also be Idom. David Samuel Spearman's dad was Edmund Spearman he was the first Spearman to move to South Carolina I have all them listed on Wikitree .Thanks.

I am not sure about this but I went to FamilySearch.org and when I put in Catherine E. Spearman Or Catherine E. Idom Spearman ,  it comes up as Adams not Idom or Odom.  Then it comes up as Adamson. Which I am not sure if that is her. But she is listed as Catherine E. Idom Spearman and then I found her name as Sarah Catherine E. Idom Spearman. Born 1809 to 1891.  I thought at first it was spelled Oldham but like I said I am not sure. It seem to me, that they really messed up the name and I am not sure why.  I found it as Sarah E. then Sarah Catherine E. and also Katherine E. Idom, and Katherine E. Odom and also Oldham, Sarah Catherine Or Sarah Katherine,  I really don't know why there are so many different spellings. It is hard to follow one then you have to pick up again but you don't know what name is being used. .But let me know if you need more help, I will try to help anyway I can. Nancy

Thanks Nancy maybe someone with some other proof of last name will contact us one day .I know on some Spearman papers the Odom family is mentioned and its close and more common but I don't know.  Lol Thanks I'm checking all my emails today I just been adding adding adding for about a week .
