Recommendation: lets create an Astronaut badge!

For those who have a million G2G points, I think that special recognition is warranted.  If ever there was a good reason for a badge, I think this is it.

I'd like to request/recommend that an Astronaut badge be created and awarded to the folks who have 1,000,000 or more G2G points.

That is a badge I'd love to have someday!

If there is some "formal" way to go about requesting this, please say and I'll start the paperwork.  If not, please leave your answers/comments.

Edit to add a few tags for visibility.

I like this idea. One day at a time SJ your day will come yes

I thought this would have something to do with the new Space Force indecision

I'll add it to the list of badge suggestions.
I. Like the idea. .

I agree, it takes a lot of dedication and postings to achieve this milestone. Doug Lockwood (https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/user/Lockwood-1016) was our very 1st Astronaut!! Now we have seven!!

Our G2G forum is an important feature to WikiTree that encourages various questions and answers. Some questions lead to successful research and connections of family members, ancestors and notables; some are suggestions concerning policies and procedures; and many are discussions about our various projects, studies and policies in the making; not to mention, some are appreciation type posts recognizing day to day contributions by our outstanding WikiTree members.

Our participation on this forum is of great significance, and has lead to many a profound effect on the success of WikiTree as a whole.  So to recognize the highest of high achievers would definitely encourage others to volunteer their time in answering questions, researching, or even participate in the many challenges WikiTree has to offer.

Thank you so much SJ Baty for suggesting this.

Seven astronauts!  That's auspicious.  You surely have the right stuff!

I agree! I know I was shocked and thrilled when I reached 100,000. I can't imagine reaching 1,000,000. It's pretty darned impressive.

Your more than a third of the way there, Deb!
You will probably be surprised when 1,000,000 comes before you expect it; point growth (assuming you remain actively posting) grows exponentially because you get upvotes for current posts, but also for past posts.

I like the idea as well. We've all benefited from their advice.

The question is, "What comes after astronaut?". I vote for Wookie, because, well....Wookie.

Chewbacca

Now, that’s cool!

I concur. Let’s make a badge!

I am sure that you will set the record for the fastest time zero to Astronaut on Wikitree Pip!  Amazing level of contributions in such a short time!
My prediction was spot on ;-)
Yes, it was!

I agree as well. We get a badge when we go over 6,000 points, seems only fitting to get one for going over 1 million points.

It is nice to have G2G titles on the G2G page but a badge would show up prominently on the members WikiTree profile page too!! Someone who is not "a regular" on the G2G forum sees it and inquires about it, maybe then they too will participate more on the G2G forum. Just a thought!

Just a week or two ago Anne B. joined the Astronaut ranks and yesterday or today, Pip Sheppard did as well.  Congrats to our new astronauts.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could pin a new badge for all their hard work ;-)
