Hi everybody,
I've got a problem with the DNA options available at wikitree.
I've done extensive dna research, autosomal, y-111 and bigy at ftdna. I've put it all in the profil, but somehow if you look at my direct paternal ancestors, you find just the autosomal test. No haplogroup or y-dna is passed on to my paternal line. Is this because of the name? My father got adopted by his grandfather mothers side as his parents moved to the usa, he grew up in germany and was given the surname of his german grandfather that i also have. The original surname would be "cain" from the irish o'kanes/o'cahan/o'cathain of ulster.
If i click on dna matches it always tries to find "meyer" realtives for me,even so there is no chance to find one via y-dna. I've taken the cain-name here in wikitree as it is easier for other cains to find me, but should i perhaps change from "name at birth meyer" and "current name cain" the other way round as it seems that the tools use the birthname? Thank you for your help
Regards
Andre
