One of my ancestors was Joh Fryer Berkeley, who was born in Virginia in 1723 and died in Virginia in 1809. He was the father of Scarlet Berkley (the spelling was probably altered due to an unpopular governor of the same name.) I cannot find anything about his parents for sure. I know that's not unusual for pre-revolutionary profiles, but I would like to see if I can. I've seen him connected to the Berkeley nobility who occupied Berkeley Castle in England in some places and his father as an Adkins, both without substantial evidence. Does anyone have any knowledge of records which may clear this up? Any help is appreciated.
