Different Parents

Question

Death Certif, states parents Robert and Lainey.

Lainey's marriage certif says Joesph and Lainey

Joseph and Robert were brothers. No paperwork indicates Lainey married Robert.

How/where do I go to figure this out?

Yes. Euince Potts (Owens) she is the child of Lainey. Eunice death 6/19/1927.

Lainey and Joseph Marriage was 2/17/1874

Who is the death certificate for? Lainey, or one of her children?

Are you saying that Lainey's marriage certificate says "Joseph and Lainey" are her parents (and mom has same name) or just that Lainey married a Joseph?

Death Is Eunice (laineys daughter)

Eunice Death says Lainey and Robert were her parents.

I have copy of Lainey and Robert's marriage certif.

Keep in mind that whoever gave the information on the death certificate - it wasn't Eunice.

Could this record be her family? The L in the mom's name could be for Lainey. Did she have a sister who might have been called Sallie (often a  nickname)? They live one county east of the county where Eunice died.

I have family from Kentucky too and they can be very difficult to research.

Okay...so I guess I need to go back and re-research the marriage certif and death. in both counties.

My husband is the oldest living person in his family, so the Potts tree has been very difficult to make happen.
