Recommendation for easy mapping program for geographically challenged

Can anyone suggest a mapping program or app which could be used to compare and locate land deed descriptions that use metes and bounds? I need something simple to use for someone who isn't very good at this.

I'm trying to determine if a certain parcel of land is actually overlapping two county lines. Any help appreciated.  thanks

Deed Mapper is the only one I know of that's genealogy-oriented

http://directlinesoftware.com/deedmapper_42

It's not necessarily the easiest software to use, but it's easier than doing it by hand.

QGIS is an open source free GIS software. Lots of useful and informative forums.  If you're a little more ambitious.  It rivals pay software and is used by professionals.  And it's FREE, so you can check it out without breaking the bank and at your own pace.

GoogleEarth has some interesting interactive features, may be a little more user friendly.

Thank you Santino for the information.  I'll see what I can find.
