How to merge profiles

I need help merging two profiles.  I have done the research and compared the information. I find that I don't know what steps to take next.

The proposed merge is Harms-1058 into Harms-759.  I created Harms 1058 and it has more data, images, and sources than Harms-759. After attempting to contact the profile manager for Harms-759 for over a month and not getting an answer, I am merging on my own.

If the merge "must" be from newer into older, I want to be sure that all the information I have placed in Harms-1058 remains AND that I am the profile manager.

The merge was proposed on the 12th August so you will need to wait for the normal period before proceedining.
What is the "Normal Period?

Hi Ginger,

If a Pending Merge is ignored for over 30 days — if the Profile Managers do not complete the merge, reject it, or set the profiles as Unmerged Matches within a month — it will be cleared for any Wiki Genealogist (any signer of the Honor Code) to complete, reject, match, or remove it as they deem appropriate.

If a profile involved in a pending merge is Public when it is approved by default, it will be changed to Open.

Excuse me.  Are you "yelling" at me because I don't understand or can't find the right help section?  I appreciate the answer, but the enormous word size followed by a smaller size tells me you knew what you were doing. I think I was just insulted.
Ginger, If you take a look at other postings by Steve you will see that he does a lot to help people and does not yell at anyone. I expect that what has happened here is that he used copy/paste and fell victim to a problem with font size.
Thank you for your confidence in Steve Schmidt.  As I said, I thought he gave a good answer.  I started to wonder, because of the very large font, whether my questions are too exasperating, too often, seen to be combative, too stupid........  I am having a very hard time understanding how to navigate the site. As I learn I am making myself a "cheat sheet" so I can work on my profiles correctly.
I second Lynda's support for Steve.  He doesn't yell at people.

It will all fall into place eventually Ginger. Just take it a step at a time and work from the assumption that people mean well even if things look a bit odd sometimes smiley

You have mentioned reading other comments by Steve Schmidt. How do I find them.  I am comforted by the support given for Steve's character by those who have known him...That makes this a wonderful place to work on a mutual project.
Click on his profile then either look at Recent Activity or All Answers.

When two profiles are merged, all of the data and information in both profiles is included in the final merged profile. If there are duplications or inaccuracies, the final profile can be edited and corrected during the Merge  process. Individuals who are profile managers of one or both of the profiles being merged will remain profile managers on the final merged profile. See the Help Index for more information on Merging.

Finally found the Held Index.  This is not an easy site for finding information.
