Lev I Prince Galicia

This guy shows up in the Data Doctors suggestions (not mine), and I did not know what to make of the name. In any case, I’m not pre-1500 certified. Can someone look at this fella?

European Aristocrats Project WikiTree should own it

Correct. But is the name in the right form? (Cool pic of him in Wikipedia.)

Leo is the Latin form. Lev is probably better.

Merged into a "more correct" duplicate (see below). I'm not sure we'll ever agree on "the" correct form.

I didn't know he founded Lviv - that makes a lot of sense. We definitely need to have an alternate form in Glagolitic too.

Danylovych is a patronymic. We prefer not to use them as LNAB for medieval aristo profiles, though it should definitely be in one of the first/middle name fields, using one spelling or another.

He's a Rurikid. There's no concensus on a LNAB for those, and it will be hard to have one, between those who prefer Anglicized names, those who prefer the original Cyrillic characters, and then should we prefer Rurikovich/Rurikovna depending on gender, or the dynasty name Rurikovichi for everyone. Plus this is a "Ukrainian" branch and they have slightly different letters/spelling. Рю́риковичи seemed to get most support. It's a real can of worms, anyway.

I marked it:

[[Category:European Royals and Aristocrats 742-1499 Project]]

{{Unsourced}}

hopefully, someone from the project will tend to it.

Thank you.

I found a duplicate... also orphaned, so now the two profiles are merged:

Lev Danilovich Rurikovich, King of Galich

I'm not 100% sure the LNAB is exactly the one we want, so I'm a bit sorry the merge went through directly; both profiles were orphaned.
