Not going to make this easy for us, are you?

James was born in 1886.  In 1900, 1910, and 1917, he lived in Tishomingo County, not Itawamba.  He married Emma in the 1900s (they're married in the 1910 Census, not in 1900).

"United States World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KZ89-3XD : 13 March 2018), James Oscar Rowin, 1917-1918; citing Tishomingo County, Mississippi, United States, NARA microfilm publication M1509 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,683,988.

I hope that narrows the search some.  Looking for Emma now.

There's an Emma Rowen buried in Fulton, Itawamba, Mississippi, 1889-1929 (no info on her birth family):

Find A Grave, database and images (https://www.findagrave.com : accessed 23 August 2018), memorial page for Emma Rowen (1889–1929), Find A Grave Memorial no. 30305701, citing Mount Pleasant Baptist Cemetery, Fulton, Itawamba County, Mississippi, USA ; Maintained by Bertha Avery-Hood (contributor 46546576) .

Are you sure her maiden name was Jones?  I found this:

"United States Census, 1900," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M9F7-578 : accessed 24 August 2018), Emma Smith in household of Jackson J Smith, Beat 5, Tishomingo, Mississippi, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) 116, sheet 5B, family 96, NARA microfilm publication T623 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1972.); FHL microfilm 1,240,830.

And this:

"United States Census, 1900," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M9F7-578 : accessed 24 August 2018), Emma Smith in household of Jackson J Smith, Beat 5, Tishomingo, Mississippi, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) 116, sheet 5B, family 96, NARA microfilm publication T623 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1972.); FHL microfilm 1,240,830.

There was an Emily Jones in Warren County, but that's quite a ways from Tishomingo/Itawamba:

"United States Census, 1900," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M9FH-QZW : accessed 24 August 2018), Emily Jones in household of Matterson Jones, Beat 2, Warren, Mississippi, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) 126, sheet 12A, family 322, NARA microfilm publication T623 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1972.); FHL microfilm 1,240,831.

If it exists, a death certificate might show her parents.  I believe most states issued them by 1929, but I don't think Mississippi's are online.

sorry to not be of much .help. Shes listed as Jones. was told she was part Indian, but not proven and not in my dna test results.
Jeannie, where is she listed as Jones?  Can you provide a link to this listing?

It would be helpful to WikiTree, and to you, to build your families' profiles, and enter everything you know.  Every little detail, and where you learned it.  You probably know much more than you think.
thank you
