I have found those who have William Boyce/Elizabeth Snyder as parents.(b.of William 1748) I have found Daniel Boyce/Applegate as parents (b of Daniel 1745), I have found a Phillip Boyce listed as parent. .They all list the same children and dates. Using census records for this time period (late 1700's-early 1800's) are problematic as general ages given, without names. I have not been able to find deeds online for the areas involved (Fayette County, Greene County Pennsylvania/ Monongalia, Virginia( which could give references to children. I need to find definitive sources if possible. There are various spellings of the last name - Boyce, Boice, Bice, Buys, Boise.

You'll probably need to look through books.  The area you are talking about is familiar to me as I have ancestors from there.  The area made some great pioneers!

Will have to go thru them deeper. On first check looking at indexes and such, I am finding no mention of Boyce. Like many of my ancestors, farmers and such, they seemed to live quiet lives not get into politics. They did serve in the military at times.

But you have put me on to a new source of information that may help me with the Boyce surname, and other surnames. Thank you!. And as I write this I have come up with some more ideas. You have stirred the pot and maybe some choice morsels will arise.
Samuel Boyce Sr (b 1783) didn't remain in Southern PA. He went south to Marion Co VA/WV. More specifically Colfax in Marion Co VA/WV

He married German born Mary Stines. By 1820, maybe as early as 1810, they were in Marion Co WV/VA. They had 11 children, one of which was Samuel Jr (1820) who married Mary Vandergrift. I don't have a definitive source to connect Samuel Sr to Daniel but I'm somewhat confident of that  Daniel is Samuel Sr's father, as I have seen in trees. As far as Daniel goes, I have a digital copy of a will of Francis Bice, m. Hannah Sterling/Starling, that shows Daniel as a son. My ancestor, 4X Great Grandfather, is Thomas Boice m. Edith Applegate, brother to Daniel. I can get you a couple pictures of pages from a book that gives the children of Samuel Sr, I believe those of Samuel Jr as well, and a little history that may lead you to more clues.

Yes, any information that could make the tree a little stronger helps. I have leaned towards Daniel as I have looked at things. William was a runner up. Thank you for responding. And if you have the time, would be interested in copies of the info.

Ok, best way to share the pictures? I have 3 pictures. The image feature on here doesn't seem very user friendly.... Width, Height, Border, Vspace, etc
The title of the book is "West Virginia's Lower Tygart River valley: People & Places" by Carolynn Fortney Hamilton. The author is, or was, a resident of Colfax WV, where Samuel Sr settled. I believe the book is no longer being published or in circulation. I bought a copy when they were still selling. I think I heard there is a copy available to the public at the library in Fairmont, WV. The book has a Library Congress Control Number: 2003114185
