In search of who was Lincy Medlin born 1827 Union North Carolina
in Genealogy Help by anonymous G2G Rookie (190 points)
Tami Earnhardt via Ancestry.com lists John Medlin 1790-1870 and Unity Deberry 1795-1871  as his parents.
I have seen that in other trees Betty but I have not found documentation to support that. John and Unity had one daughter Eliza and she married a Victor Crook and dates wouldn't work for Lincy, unless there is something I have missed somewhere. Anything you can add very much appreciated
I put some sources on John's profile, although they don't lead to Lincy.  Today is the 154th anniversary of his death.

Oh wow that is hard to believe...I am still searching, frown thank you Herbert

The only documentation I can find on Lincy Medlin is where she filed for a war pension in 1893 I believe in Faulkner Co Ar. She had children in Perry County, one was a son John L Belk he married Sarah Strickland and they had a daughter named Ida Lincy. I have never located a marriage or death certificates. She and her husband John Belk were my great-grandparents. I think only thru DNA matches and others trees did the name Medlin come from.I and others have searched for years to find out who she was and her husband John, both from Union NC.Thank you very much for the links I will look through them now.
An Ancestry user has posted some images of Lincy's pension docs.  Her husband John Belk died in the war.  I didn't see the name Medlin on any of them, though.
No, I have never found her as a Medlin either, only have that info as she is listed as such in DNA matched trees I guess we are all just making a guess based on that. If I could find anything on John Belk it may lead me to her.
