Found an old gravestone can only read name

I believe he is the husband of this woman. Someone has given her a newer stone it seems. I put the photo on her profile since I have zero infomation to make a profile for him. I found an obituary to link her to a John Read or Reid but I can find no other information on either of them. Any ideas of where to go next?

I found a death record of a daughter (Pretty sure) so I'm going to add her as a daughter and see if that search yields more answers

My guess would be:
John Read
Died
Feb 8 1888
Aged 83 years
Can you take another photo, looking from the side of the stone to get more shadows/contrast of edges of letterings ? Removing grass around the edges and especially the top would help too.

I live 3 hours away and I didn't even realize I took this photo. But now that I'm planning to do a free space for this cemetery I am going to go back and get the graves I missed and I'll try to get a better photo.
