Cecil John Rhodes relatives - he could be my 2nd great grandad.

Question

I'm new to wikitree and would love to see if I can find a match with Cecil Rhodes.

My 2nd great grandma, Jessie Frewer had an illegitimate son, Edward in Jan 1898.

He stayed at a hotel extremely close to the workhouse she was in and out of and where she worked.

Upon looking at his secretary's memoirs on him, I saw that he was in London the time my great grandad would've been conceived too.

Is there a reason you believe Cecil Rhodes in particular fathered your great-grandpa? If there's a direct male descendant of your g-grandfather Edward, ask them to test and find out what their closest YDNA matches are. That will be your best bet to identifying the correct father. YDNA is passed down from father to son directly, so a female-line descendant will not work.

Have you ever read a biography of Cecil John Rhodes?  He never married and apparently never had any interest in the female gender. I think it highly unlikely he left any descendants.
