Should Christopher Newport (Newport-986) be merged with Christopher Newport II (Newport-237)? [closed]

The Profile Christopher Newport (Newport 986) is clearly a duplicate entry for the same person as Christopher Newport II (Newport-237).  The dates of birth and death are the same, but the profile and tree for Newport-237 are much better developed.

Yes it does appear to need a merge.  It looks like one has been proposed but rejected, but there do not seem to be any comments as to why?  You should leave a message for the profile managers asking for clarification as to the reason the proposed merge was rejected.
