My third great-grandparents were William S. Bowman, born about 1800 in or near Washington, D.C. and his wife, Catharine Mininie Bowman.  They were mulatto slaves who escaped in 1824.  I have their runaway notice.  They had 6 sons and 1 daughter.  I know about Catharine's forbearers but know nothing about William's.  I am happy to share what I have about Catharine and the little I have on their children.

Massachusetts Death Record,Ancestry.Com.William W. Bowman,died

Dec 12 1907,his father William S. Bowman ,born Geargetown Mass.

Mother Catherine Minifee, born Washington D.C. The probability is strong,

Hiding there info,so people cannot connect them with escaped slaves. It makes it difficult too trace Ancestors. No use for me too go further.
Thank you.  William was one of their 6 sons.  The family escaped to Boston and the children were baptized in the Catholic church.  The archdiocese their recently released records where I found the baptisms..

yes, I have the runaway notice.  Do you have more on any of the children or on William S. Bowman?
That is all I found. I would suggest researching his middle name for clues.
Thanks so much for that.  I have researched this family extensively but except for their daughter, Pastora, I haven't been able to find descendants.  Hopefully, someone on this site may know of: Edward Bowman, b. 1825, Charles F., b. 1830, William W., b  1832, Joshua G., b 1834, Benjamin F., b 1836 or Frederick, b. 1840.  My great-grandfather was Joseph Henry, born 1829.  Pastora was born 1827.

Thanks for your efforts.  The information on the birthplaces of the parents on this death certificate is wrong.  I've pretty much proved that.

 I do appreciate your help.
